Earth is a rose in God's garden
Fashioned with great love and care
Gently he formed the mountains
Sculptured each valley with care
Covered its hills with green carpets
Sprinkled with flowers of each hue
Ran cool bubbling brooks down its mountains
Then covered the whole thing with blue.
He looked and he loved its great beauty
So swiftly he made his great plan
He would give what he loved to the ones he loved
So he gave his Earth to man.
But man found a flaw, for they sought it
And thought to improve on his plan
And then with no thought of tomorrow
Began to ravage the land.
The trees and lovely green mountains
Bowed low for the passing of man
So man left his mark on God's hand work
Not thinking of Gods greater plan
Then, God, high up in his heaven
Looking down, remembered its birth
And regretted although he still loved him
He had placed man on Earth.
